Study Skills and Revision Notes

Hello readers,

I want to share some useful information with you today. I understand how hard it is writing revision notes. Various things will be running through your head; where should I start, am I writing the correct notes, will these notes help me, how will all this information stick? From past experience, I know that revision notes help, a lot! You nee to assess each student differently as each student responds differently to the various types of revision notes.

Some like using diagrams, some flash cards and others work better with A4 pages of notes. As revision notes are such an important aspect to studying for exams, students, parents and teachers put a lot of stress on getting it right. Sometimes students will be told how important these revision notes are but will be given no information about how to curate them.

When exam time comes around and people start urging you to write those revision notes but you have no idea where to start companies like Tavistock Tutors can help. A-Levels are tough exams, so every bit of preparation can affect your final grade.

Tavistock Tutors help students with their revision notes by providing study skills tutors in London. They help students make the most informative types of revision notes that are suitable to each students study techniques. They provide private tutors for one on one classes in London covering all study skills techniques.

Please share your thoughts below about how important revision notes are to you

SITE UPDATE

Hi everyone,

Today I have just completed pushing a major update to the site. This is what is new (BIOLOGY ONLY:

  • Notes are able to be viewed and saved using the new 'slideshare' boxes
    • This is a new service as I know people have been having trouble using the links to google docs etc
    • Notes can be downloaded from this without signing in
  • All notes are now one single PDF file per unit
    • Downloads and viewing should be easier
Hope revision is going well

Please remember I'm always looking for new content, if you have produced any notes for your revision no matter how good you think they are please submit them to me by email to: revision.notes.blog@gmail.com

I would also like to start sharing people's stories of using the site and how it has helped them so feel free to email these in to me too

Thanks everyone!

What would you like to see?

Hey

Over the summer as I have now finished my first year at Uni I have a lot of time to make changes to the blog and hopefully add a heck of a lot more content and other things.

Obviously if I could do everything that would be amazing and I will try and do as much as possible but i wanted to ask you guys, the actual users what you would like to see.

I have designed a short survey (literally only 4 questions!) and would appreciate as many responses as possible.

I know these things take time and I do appreciate it. Plus you get to shape what will be on here in a few months time!

Also as a side note anyone who wants to get involved and actually make some of the content feel free to contact me: revision.notes.blog@gmail.com This will look great on your CV and any UCAS applications and any work that you do I'm happy to provide a reference for. Plus your work is out there for people to see. Pretty cool, no?

Create your free online surveys with SurveyMonkey , the world's leading questionnaire tool.

Ads ads and more ads

Hi everyone

I apologise for the amount of ads on the site currently

Here is the reasoning behind these:
  • It is currently our busiest time in terms of how many people visit the site
  • We don't charge anything for the revision notes
The ads are there to make the site money. We hate ads too and appreciate that they are annoying but please stick with us and hopefully we can remove them soon.

This is a trial so any feedback is really helpful as I can't view the site like you can unfortunately

New degree section

Hi

Soon there will be a new degree section on here. This will mainly be a set of quizzes and other materials based around physiology and human anatomy.

Sounds like a load of made up words? Don't worry it's based at people doing degrees and foundation degrees in human biology based subjects such as physiotherapy, medicine, pharmacology etc etc.

If you know anyone who might benefit from taking a look at these send them this way! They'll be here soon and will be relevant if you're planning on going off to uni in September!

A little plug...

Hi everyone

For nearly a year now I've been on giffgaff for my mobile phone operator. I just wanted to take the time to introduce you to them as I'm sure many of you won't have heard of them.

They are really cheap and have great signal as they run on O2 (like Tesco mobile)

The only slight problem is that you need to own your phone as they don't sell contract deals

The link below allows you to order a giffgaff sim for FREE and when you activate it you'll also get £5 free credit

http://giffgaff.com/orders/affiliate/andyhubbert

Sorry for this distracting plug but they really are good and the community is really friendly and quick at helping you out with any problems
